spider web

I read recently - though I don’t recall where - that spiders are territorial, building their webs over and over in the same place, and that once you’ve found a web, you can watch that location and track the development of a single spider. We have an abundance of spiders near our front entrance. While this would skeeve some of my friends and family, I’ve taken it as a sort of blessing on our house. The spiders are friendly visitors keeping less welcome ones away (pest insects, not my friends and family). Now that I know I’ll see the same spider each time, I think I’ll keep a closer watch on the one nearest our front door.
