This is a journal of what I’m reading and the interests, obsessions, and crazy schemes that my reading inspires and reflects. It chronicles my attempt to read more carefully, write more frequently, and think more clearly.
My name is Jenni, pronounced like “Jenna”. I’m a freelance writer and recovering lawyer. Above all, I’m a mom.
My family is daughter Meg, born in April 2005, and partner Steve, who spends most of his time writing software patents. We make our home on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle.
Although we live in the city, a lot of my recent reading is about farming. I read to learn, and other topics of interest include parenting, education, and community building, though that list is far from comprehensive. When I’m reading for pure pleasure, it’s usually literary fiction by women writers.
Since that’s what I’m reading about, that’s what I’m writing about.
Thank you for joining me on my adventure.
