An<br \/>\nupcoming memoir about a father and son who watch three movies together each week as a condition of the son&#8217;s dropping out of school is also wrapped in the one year ribbon. I learned about the book from an <a href=\"http:\/\/papercuts.blogs.nytimes.com\/2007\/12\/06\/movie-school-dropout\/\">oldish post<\/a> on the NY Times book blog.  Its author is as done with the device as I am.
